It worked, then suddenly it didn't. When double-clicking an Outlook message,
it "hides" behind the Outlook screen. I have to open it by clicking the
minimized bar in the task bar below Outlook. Anyone else have this problem?

often this problem is a display driver issue., Try updating your display
driver or try an alternate driver.

I just installed Plaxo to test this and don't have the issue. were you
perhaps using an older version of Plaxo? With which version of Outlook were
you using it?

BillR, It absolutely worked for me. I am using WinXP with Office 2003.
(Outlook version 11.5608.5703). I installed Plaxo just a few weeks ago and
never really put 2 and 2 together with the coincidence of the outlook "always
on top" issue. Unfortunately, since I have uninstalled Plaxo now, I don't
have the version. But it was really just 2-3 weeks ago.

BTW, i read about this fix in a much earlier post on this site.

I originally found out that deleting all my outlook files in my profile
(Docs & Settings\<userid>\appl data\ms\outlook *.*)

BillR:
It's not going to start right away after loading Plaxo. There is some event
in using Plaxo that corrupts some outlook setting that screws up Outlook's
window layers. It might be a synch event or something like that.

When I cleaned out the Outlook Apps Data files the problem went away for a
while. Then after Plaxo triggered some event (can't remember exactly what)
the problem returned.

Will try uninstalling Plaxo. Thanks!
