dotx converter

I loaded the 2007 compatibility pack, but it won't open a "dotx" 2007
template file I need, only will work with "docx" file.

That is "by design", for reasons I don't know. In order to open or edit a
dotx template, you'll have to use Word 2007; an earlier version with the
compatibility pack won't do.

Convert from dotx to docx to solve

I've found that converting from dotx to docx using the following free converter works awesome. Then you can open the docx file with your current Microsoft File converter.
