I am trying to download a programme but the site tells me
i need to open DOS window then type in a code, i'm not to
sure what Dos window is or where to find it on my
computer.

Greetings Ngawai,

There are two ways on how to get the Command Prompt window (Dos window).
Here are the following ways:

1. Start > Run > command

or

2. Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

A MSDOS or DOS window will not be found in XP.
There is a command console mode if that is what you
are referring. Accessories > Command Prompt
