DOS Screen modes

I have DOS GWBasic programs that I have run under Win 98. Now I have
upgraded to WinXP. When I run the same DOS programs, the screens are
cramped up onto the top half of the screen and hard to read. I have tried
resetting the "Properties | fonts and screen" but I always get the same.

Is this a BASIC screen command problem? Is it an XP problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Use CTRL+Enter to jump to a full screen DOS window.

And it doesn't always work.
