DOS programs run very slow in XP

We have been using the same DOS/FOX based program for over
15 years. Since we have upgraded our machines to XP using
Novell netware the DOS program opens and runs very slow.
Has anyone had the same problem and bee able to fix it or
atleast make it better? Some say it is because XP runs an
emulated version of DOS but others do not agree. Thanks
in advance for any direction on this.

First make sure you are running the Netware Client 4.83 SP2. Next check out TameDOS (http://www.tamedos.com/) or DOSIdle if you can find it - these allow many DOS apps to run much better under XP.
