Dos app on a Windows XP SP 2 client machine = slow

Ever since putting sp2 on our client workstations at work, we are very
slow in operation with our DOS based business application (Touchstone
2000). We run a windows 2000 server, but some of the machines that
run the sp2 on the client machines, seem to run our dos app very slow.
Is there a way to fix this? Seems SP2 did something to slow down our
application.

Apply for the job of system administrator as it seems the current
occupent of that office didn't do a test system before he/she upgraded
all the workstations.

Do this:

Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the TaskManager. Take a look
at the processes that are running when you start the app up.
If your system slows down, it's probably because the CPU
is jumping up to 100% useage.

Next, take a look at the Event Viewer (Start, Run, EventVwr.exe).

See if it's giving specific messages about the problem app.

If the processor jumps up to 100% useage, let us know. Also
type in the following: click on Start, Run, type in cmd.exe.

You'll get a command prompt window, and take a look at the
processor utilization after you start up the command prompt.

Report back here when you've done that and let us know the
results.
