Dos Program Display in XP

I am having a problem with a necessary DOS program not displaying properly in
Full Screen Display. The program has shrunk to fill only the top half of the
screen and I cannot get it to stretch from top to bottom to fill the screen.
I have tried different resolutions and I have also used the Alt Enter Key.

Possibly this is a Graphic Card problem. I have been told that it is a Font
problem. Are there any suggestions as to how I could force this old Dos based
(necessary) program to stretch and fill the full screen?

The thing that is probably happening is that the dos program uses a
different resolution when in full screen, so try adjusting your monitor
controls to fit the image correctly
(the buttons ON your monitor)
