Hi,
I am running XP PRO with a local HP1200 printer on LPT1
when I print through the dos app with embedded compression
codes in document, the job fails (print stays at 10cpi).
If I capture the output to a file (option in applicaton)
and copy the file to lpt1 with /b option (at cmd prompt)
it works perfectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shaun.

maybe when your app. is printing directly to the port, different Escape
Sequences are used.
Check your application's documentation to see if you can set different
printer types on each port.

If you don't find a solution, you could install Printfil to automatically
pick-up your file and send it to the printer.

Kind regards,
