DOS printing in windows XP pro

D

Dan

I am running windows XP Pro. I have 2 printers
installed, an HP laser jet on LPT1 and an HP 1220c inkjet
on USB. I also am running ClickBook 7 which allows mwe
to send documents to it and it formats them into smaller
sheets and in booklet form.

I have an old dos program (First Choice)that I have not
had time to convert to another database: I used to be
able (95, 98, Me) to print to LPT1 no problem. Going to
XP, whenever I print from this DOS program it insists on
trying to use the ClickBook program, and thus goes
nowhere: have to reboot to even get it out of the system.

What I'm looking for is- where do I tell XP to use LPT1
for DOS printing? I have the Laserjet set as default
printer. Seems like no matter what I do, the First Choice
program insists on using the ClickBook printer driver
instead of using the LPT1/Laserjet driver.

Pulling my hair out...

Users of Dos programs seem to be discriminated by XP.

If your app can print to a file, than Printfil can print it over any Windows
printer. Either local, networked, or virtual (Winfax, PDF writers...)

If it cant, you can capture the LPT output to be sent to a file.
