Hi John,

Have you tried using a different keyboard??
Try cleaning out both the male & female PS2 connections
for the keyboard as well.
Perhaps even try a USB keyboard if you have one available.

You can't format c: drive from within Windows if this
partition contains your windows OS.
If this is the case, skip the next parragraph on how to
format using Windows 2000, the section after this will
explain how to do it using DOS.

To format a drive in Windows 2000, look at this article:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsSer
v/2003/all/deployguide/en-us/Default.asp?
url=/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/deploygui
de/en-us/dmebj_env_ixtx.asp

To format a drive in DOS:
Create a DOS boot disk.
Boot using the DOS boot disk.
to format the c: drive, run:
format c:

You can use fdisk if you want to mess around with your
partitions.

Alternatively, boot up using the Win2000 CD (it is a
bootable CD); you can format the drive from the
installation CD. Doing this will allow you to format the
drive only once (instead of twice) if you want to setup
the partition to be NTFS.

Windows 2000 setup will ask you if you want to repartition your drive or
use existing partitions. If you have difficulties deleting the
partition try delpart.exe It's a small simple and easy to use utility
that runs in DOS and that will delete the NTFS partions. Just download
it on to a diskette and once your are in a DOS session it can be run
from the diskette. You can download it here:
http://www.upgradenrepair.com/delpart.htm

Can you go in your pc BIOS and set the computer to boot from the CD-ROM?
If not get a DOS boot disk or W98 Startup disk with CD-ROM support.
They can be downloaded from the same place where you got the 6.22 boot
disk. Also remember that while in DOS your cd-ROM drive letter might
not be what you expect it to be if DOS made a temporary RAM drive.
Usually the cd-ROM letter is one higher than what you might expect it to
be. So if you think that the CD is drive D it most likely will be drive
E because DOS will assign the RAM drive to letter D.
