Doofus me...Removed attributes on AD Folder

D

David Reed

Okay, I'm a doofus. I accidentally deleted the Administrators Group
permissions to a folder in a share (after I had removed the inheritance).
Needless to say, it didn't have the desired effect.

Now there are only two users and the Domain Users group who have permissions
to the folder and its contents. All three of those have Modify, R&E, List,
Read and Write attributes.

How can I, as the administrator, take control of that folder and get
Administrators Group back to having Full Control of that folder?

Thanks

Take ownership of the folder as Administrator....then re-set the
permissions.

I kinda thought that was the answer, but I've never done that before...can
you point me to directions on how to take ownership?

David

Right click, properties, security, advanced, owner.
