dont want word2000 to open htm in fp2003

Out of 100's of htm pages, i have 3 that were created using office 2000
where i told it do save the document as an htm type file. There were doc's
sent to me and I thought it was easy to just save as html and put on the web
page.

I discovered that when I open the file in FP2003, word 2000 is the primary
choice. I dont want word to open these file since word totally screws them
up after an image is added. I see a bunch of flags where the pics are
supposed to be and the pics are elsewhere in the page. Totally fubar and I
have to restore the "htm" from the web site. I have learned to right click
and select "open with front page" but occassionally I forget and when I hit
the save button the page is ruined with flags and other stuff. These files
do not end with .doc, only with .htm so somehow fp2003 knows they were
originally word type docs. How can I fix this so that word is no longer
used on those documents.

Thanks.

I just tried that but it didnt work.:( I even restarted the program
(FP2003) and it still didnt work. When I look at my file listings on the
web page, the icon for word (W) is listed by those few htm files that were
created originally useing word. If I right click the #1 choice is microsoft
word. On the other htm files the #1 choice is to open with front page. It
is as if FP is ignoring those options????

Fixed the problem...had to put each of the former "htm" documents into the
code view mode, then delete the following three lines under the <head> tag:

<meta name=ProgId content=Word.Document>
<meta name=Generator content="Microsoft Word 10">
<meta name=Originator content="Microsoft Word 10">

originally i tried deleteing the two lines at the very top:
<html xmlns:blush:="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:blush:ffice:blush:ffice"
xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:blush:ffice:word"

But that didnt fix the problem either. Only those lines under the <head>
tag made the difference. One would think that using the "tools-options"
command would stop word from being used on html pages. The (W) icon change
to (HTML) only after closing the program.
