Don't want to keep sent mail on Exchanage server for personal emai

I am using the Outlook 2003 and have both Exchange account (for work use) and
POP3 account (for personal use). an .ost is being used as the default
folder. All sent mail will be saved in "sent mail" folder on server, how can
I save the sent mail to another .pst file instead of "sent mail" on server
for all my personal email? I don't want to keep my personal email on office
exchange server.

You probably should use a separate profile or Outlook Express for personal
mail... but if not, use an after sending rule to put mail sent through the
personal account in your pst and mail sent through the exchange account in
the exchange mailbox.. then turn off the option to save sent mail (tools,
options, email options).

For that, you would need either a message rule to move the sent items to the
correct folder, or you could setup a separate Outlook profile strictly for
your POP account; this would keep everything separate, you just wouldn't be
able to access both accounts at the same time

Hi Diane Poremsky, your suggestion works but cannot find the setting to mark
the sent mail as read. Mail is moved to sent box but in unread status.

Alas, there is no such setting. Moved outgoing mail will always show as
unread.

Alas, there is no such setting. Moved outgoing mail will always show as

and with enough willpower, you too can learn to ignore the unread message
count in each folder. :)
