Don't want media center to run

When I put in a DVD windows media center opens and plays the DVD... I have
another program I prefer.
Ideally I want the auto run dialog box to open and let me chose what I want
to happen..
It was set like this in the past, and somehow media center decided to over
ride....
I have looked at my auto run settings and in the DVD category I have it set
to always ask... but it does not...
Is this fixable ?

Well, I don't know then, maybe someone else will come along with more help
answers or you could try posting in the following newsgroup related to Media
Center:

This may be a bug in their registration - under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\
EventHandlers\PlayDVDMovieOnArrival
, what is listed? One of those should be Roxio's. That "Roxio entry" will
be found under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\ Handlers

What's the InvokeProgID there? I know some vendors mess up their
registration, that should be the key setting. I'd be curious about all of
the settings under the "Roxio entry", but it's the InvokeProgID that is
typically really wrong if something's awry.
