don't show on title slide

hi community

when i go into the Header and Footer dialog box and checked the "don't show
on title slide" and clicked apply to all,

i can see that in the Normal View (design section) that my 1st slide does
not display the "Footer text"

but

when I run the Slide Show, my 1st slide however did display the "Footer
text", can anyone kindly assist me how to "Hide" my 1st slide "Footer text"

Are you sure that your first slide is in fact a "Title Slide"? Which Version
of PowerPoint are you using?
