Don't have GET EXTERNAL DATA as an option under File?

I want to import an excel sheet into access but I do not have the option. Can
someone help?
 
A quick search of google archives revealed a number of possible
reasons. Check out this KB article

Also, a question: Do you have Excel installed on your computer?
If not, then I think the option won't be available. At lteast that's
what one post said.
 
Thanks - I checked out that link but I am using Access 2003 and I do have
excel installed so I am not sure what the problem is. Thanks for your help
though!
