Don't have admin rights but I am in admin group

I get an error while installing a program. Their tech
support said I need admin rights "to write the
register~1.exe component". I am in the administrator
group and believe I have all admin rights. How do I check
that? Do I have to log on as admin to install this
program?

Are you also in and other groups? Are you also in Users groups. Remove
yourself from any other built in groups like Users. Any user that is created
on your PC is also by default in Users group.

On WinodwsXP most restrictive group will prevail. So if you have full access
on a resource as a member of Administrator group and deny access as a member
of Users group you will be denied access to this resource.
