dear friends --
earlier tonight my monitor went black so i followed
procedure of turning the power off/on. then i got a
message that indicated i had a lot of aol files that
werent deleted when i left aol. so reset the date using
system restore and deleted the aol files. but when i
logged onto internet explorer with the isp i've been
using for some months now, i got the message, "done, but
with errors." what does that mean? i tried rebooting
and going to i.e. again fresh but got the same error
message.
thanks very much for your help.

Hi Bernard,

Reinstall Internet Explorer by copying and pasting this line into a
start/run prompt:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf

This can be caused by an error at the website : Error is on the server
end, not on your system. Nothing you can do in this case but wait for
the page on the server to be repaired. Or a bad load of the page: Try a
reloading the page using the Refresh button in the toolbar.

Could also try clearing the Temporary Internet Files folder (Internet
Options> General> TIF> Delete Files) and deleting old cookies from the
site from the Documents and Settings\<your account>\Cookies folder. If
the error is due to a corrupt browser cache or cookie, these steps will
clear those files for you.
