domain user adopting local user profile how?

Wade

I loaded a new image on my PC, I was away from the office and could not
create a domain user (did not feel like setting up a PDC @ home). So I
created a local user restored all my data to the profile, tweaked it to my
liking and loaded programs etc. The plan was to create the domain user and
hijack that local profile when I got on the network. Creating the domain
user I did - but what is the most graceful way to adopt that local users
profile for the domain user? I dont care if I delete the local user
altogether it was only intended as temporary. I would like the folder
containing the profile to keep the same name, and I dont have the disk space
to copy the local profile to another folder.

Thanks ahead of time

After you join the domain then locate the domain profile key in;

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

and edit the Reg_Expand_Sz 'ProfileImagePath' to point to the desired path.
