Best to ask your network administrator for advice.

Go right ahead. Or are you having a problem doing so?

No, that's not possible.

Hi Bruce,

I want to reduce the delay of connection when a domain user try to
login to Windows XP. I want to create a single locale profile and the
users will be able to use the same locale profile for this station
(only this station).

Is it possible or not?

Thanks a lot,

Haydar

Yes, it's possible to create a single local account, and then simply
instruct your users to use that local account, rather than their normal
domain accounts. Of course, they'll not have access to their normal
domain resources while using the local account.

If the domain users are limited, they can't create accounts, local or
domain. Only Admin or Power user groups can.

? Sure they can, but they have to enter their username and password.

Hi Terry,

I want to create a template user and want to generate his locale profile. I
want to oblige all domain users to use this profile when they will logon on
this station.
It will reduce delay connection. I want to link this profile for any domain
user.

Is it possible?

Thanks a lot for your help.

You should be able to do this with Organiational Units and the "Deny
logon locally" policy.

Put all the computers except the one where you want to restrict logons
in one OU then grant the Logon Locally right to the OU and add Everyone
or the users or groups that you want to alloy.

On the restricted computer only grant the Logon Locally right to the
special user that you will create for the machine, (or deny all but the
special user). You could put the special computer in a OU of its own
then only allow the Logon Locally right on that OU to the special user.

Written for Windows 2000 but it would be the basically the same for the
newer server versions:
