Domain takes away all local rights

I have a Windows 2000 domain server. I am connecting to
it from Win 98, Win 2000 Pro, & Win XP Pro. It seems the
XP machines are having trouble with the Local Security
Rights. If I go to add a local printer, the 'Local
Printer' option is greyed out. Also, I have had some
issues with other software that requires Admin rights.
All this occurs while I am logged in to the local machine
as the administrator (local or domain). Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!!

First check all the settings.
Check to see that the machine properties say it is a member of the domain.
Check to make certain you are logging into the domain.
If these seem to be working and my guess is you have already tried them,
remove the machine from the domain by changing it to a workgroup and then
rejoin the domain.

Thomas, thanks for the reply. I have already done
everything in your message. Doesn't seem to work. We
have about 10 machines that are in the same situation.
The first time I had this error, it did work to switch to
a workgroup, add the printer, and then switched back to
the domain. The problem reoccurred. The last two times
I have had this problem, the switch did not work. Any
other ideas? What could cause this? I don't mind
reading articles. I have read a tons of them from the
knowledge base, but haven't found anything matching my
problem.

Thanks again!

in addition to the printer problem, hardware cannot be
installed on the local machine even when using admin
accounts.
