Domain on login box

I've got windows NT 4 domains (lets say NTDOMAIN1 and NTDOMAIN2), and I've
just installed a new Windows 2k AD domain (newdomain.co.uk). The the
domains have trusts set up between them. I have a Windows 2000 Professional
workstation that is a member of the newdomain.co.uk.

On the logon screen on the Win2k Pro machine, it lists NTDOMAIN1, NTDOMAIN2
and NEWDOMAIN... why doesn't the Win2k domain show up as NEWDOMAIN.CO.UK?
It always has done in other Win2k AD domains I've used/setup. Is it just
cos this one has trusts to Nt4 domains?

Hi David,

on the logon screen of windows 2000 and xp is always the netbios name of the
domain displayed, not the dns name, even if it's an active directory.
"It always has done in other Win2k AD domains I've used/setup." << This can
only be possible if you took newdomain.co.uk not only as the dns name, but
also as the netbios name, which is then displayed at the workstation's logon
screen.

Regards, Robert
