Upgraded a workstation to 2000 Pro. Connects to network put is not seen by other computers on the network. When trying to change from workgroup to domain name in mycomputer/properties/networkID I get message that says "Network path not found or does not exist" What is the remedy to this issue? Thanks!

the first question is, are you on a domain based network? if you are then
you will have to have an admin add the computer name to the domain
controller before you can join the domain.

Dave: the workstation computer is already added to the server, the workstation is on the LAN but in "My network places" on the server or any other computer, my computer name is not listed yet they can map the drive and access my computer. I don't understand how I have all the network resources but not be listed.

What is doing DHCP - and does your DNS suffix on the workstation's ipconfig
show the proper AD domain name? Is the computer registering itself in DNS?

Make sure that all servers and workstations should specify *only* the
internal AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network settings.
The AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with forwarders to your ISP's
DNS servers for external resolution. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300202 for more
info.
