Doing everything via Task manager

Hi,

I had a trojan, got rid of it ..... but now windows doesn't operate
properly.

I have to ctrl-alt-delete to get task manager and then start new tasks from
there.
Everything works fine doing this, but I would prefer to have normality back.

All of my start up screens work. When "browsing" for a new task, all of the
shortcuts are still there on desktop. It's just that I have no desktop
display or task bars.

Please help.

Does Explorer.exe start (from the Task Manager run new task command)?

you might want to either repair windows
or run sfc /scannow

my guess is that the trojan contaminated
and corrupted system files, thus your
antiviral did a good job of erradicating
the infections.

however, it is likely that the antiviral program
could not replace the infected system file(s)
with the geniune files needed by
your o.s.
