Doing Backup on DVDs

Hi,
I don't have Nero Burn, so I don't know how to do.
I want to backup some harddisk data onto DVDs.
With CDs, you can just use the XP default burner. But can I just do the same
(Copy them to DVD Drive and start burning), or still I've got to use Nero
burn or other software?

You must use Nero or Roxio as WinXP doesn't support burning to DVDs.
