Dog Of The Day

A program called "Winuscon". Woof.

What's it do? A lot of confusing things, and many things Windows natively
does. It took simple tasks and stirred them with a stick, and made them
complicated.

The interface is very busy and very confusing. It's all over the place. The
program is sluggish, and the setup file is 5mb. I believe Mr. Tech Systray
does about everything Winuscon does with 1 file of 412K.

I've got to go now. I have a headache. #:(

.. . . I keep misreading it as Wisconson. Or perhaps Sinusconson.

What a wonderful idea :)

Navigated to the website, perused a few screen shots, and have a bit of a
headache myself.

But, Bob, if you someone told you your OS was full of burried treasure,
wouldn't you want a treasure map?!

This is for the flowers, http://protempore.org/jarday
who have no appreciation
for beauty;
And the sheer ugliness of it all
will surely be lost on them.

Yes, of course. But not an encrypted map. :)

My "Dog of the Day": DiskkeeperLite.
Bloatware, Nagware and "Doesn't-listen-to-me" ware.
Didn't want to listen to me with it's "Set it and Forget it" option.
Didn't set it for that, Did a restart, Pulled out Process Monitor 2000
for a look-see, and it was sittin there thinking IT would set itself
and I would forget it! I use Eraser 5.7 when I get pissed off.
Never knew what hit it. :)

you said something I found interesting in

Excuse me. That was Process Viewer 2000. Which is no dog.

Hehehe. We should reclassify DiskkeeperLite as "incorrigibleware".

I tried Winuscan also, just for "experimental interest" i.e. masochistic
tendancies. You are correct, bloat and eye candy, slow and buggy. But then I
found a new update at the site so I decided to install the new version and
give the program a fair evaluation. It was worse.... remove and move on.
In all fairness, it removed cleanly and left no hidden treasure behind it.
That is a plus.
