My machine wont reboot. I created a startup disk from windows '98 and so now i can get it to run in DOS.... (a screen comes up that says a://) is there any way to fix it without reinstalling everything and losing everything from the computer?

thanks in advance!

OK try this:

1.) Change your BIOS to boot from CDROM
2.) Boot from the windows XP CD
3.) Choose upgrade from the set up selection

This will reinstall XP without losing any data
