Greeting,

Perhaps this is the wrong group for this but does XP home editions have a
function where member computers on the home network send messages to other
computers?

At work the administrator of our network (mixed XP and Win2000) can send
messages concerning the rebooting of servers, new printers, etc. These are
not e-mail or windows messaging.

I want to be able to call my kids to dinner or to bed time from my wireless
pc somewhere else in the house.

Thanks,

Jon

you could use the netsend command form a command line. alternativley you
could try "winmessenger" a program that uses netsend but give somewhat of a
gui for ease of use.
I'm not sure if the winmessenger will wokr corectly outside a domain
enviroment though.
