Does True Image play nice with Vista betas?

I have heard conflicting reports about the viability of using Acronis' True
Image (9) imaging software and the current tech. builds of Vista.

1. That it will not work from within Vista's UI?
2. You can however back up and restore from the media bootable disc for True
Image.

I'm hoping at least #2 is accurate. Has anyone imaged a late edition (Feb)
Vista partition
successfully and restored via a TrueImage boot CD?

It would be a hell of a lot more surprising if it couldnt do #2
The file system has nothing to do with the OS detail.

What happened when it failed ? Did you
image a physical drive or just a partition ?

As we've been talking about elsewhere- it should, even if you have to
do a raw image. For that matter Ghost 2001, 2002, 7.0 or above should
also (with the proper option). There are other things to try as well.

Since you've already heard conflicting reports the best bet is to try
it.

"The limitations of Acronis True Image 9.0 trial version are that you
can only restore the image when you run the program from the bootable
media. It is fully functional in Windows. The trial version
evaluation period is 15 days."

Interesting. Which part failed, Backup or restore? Where there error
messages or a non-functional restore? Is WinFS involved?
