Does the A7V8X-X support AGP 4x?

I am new to AGP8X technology, but the motherboard
manual seems to implies that you can use AGP1/2/4x
card by changing the settings in the BIOS.
It looks like the connector on the motherboard
doesn't match my AGP 1X and 4X cards. Is
the AGP8x connector different?
Thanks. Tim

I have 2 of these motherboards; 1 with an AGP 4x card and 1 with an AGP 8X
card; both are fitting well and where automatically detected as expected.

I can't exactly figure out what your question is, but I believe you're
saying that your AGP 4x doesn't fit in the AGP slot. As you can see above,
I didn't had any trouble installing.

The A7V8X-X has a standard AGP slot just like any mother board. They
sometime differ in the design of the card lock. The A7V8X-X has a level that
lifts and locks upon card insertion (much like the Ram locks). Then you use
it to lever the card out (again, like RAM).

Personally, I could do without it. I'm not sure if they're there to prvent
someone from jamming a PCI carf in there or what. I found that with a longer
AGP card (GeForce4 for instance) it was a pain to get at when you wanted to
remove the card.

Like I said there are many designs but the A7V8X-X supports up to and
including 8X AGP cards and will auto detect whatever is in there. I noticed
that when I put a GeForce 3 in there I could adjust the AGP x setting
(1X,2X, 4X) in BIOS. With the 8X Radeon it detected 8X and locked the
setting.

Go ahead, plug it in.

IIRC, The mobo only supports 1.5V AGP cards, so other then that,
shouldn't be a problem.
