Does Powerpoint have a limit on video file size

In Powerpoint 2003, is there a limit to how big a video file can be (.avi,
..mpg, etc.) before PPT stops playing it smoothly? What are the factors
involved in getting good result from playing inserted videos. I see choppy
video sometimes on large files ... is that a direct function of the RAM
installed on the computer? Does PPT have limitations?

Try playing the same video in the MCI media player (choose Start, Run then type
MPLAY32.EXE and click OK. Then use the program that starts to open and play
your files.

Do this while you also have PPT running and a presentation loaded up so that
the results are more or less equivalent to what'd happen when PPT plays the
file ... as that's about what happens. PPT hands it off to MPLAY32.

The biggest factor I have found is keeping your hard drive cleaned of tmp
files and defragmented.
