Does Outlook require local Admin rights?

Hi, I have Outlook 2000 running well on a PC with the user configured as part
of the local Administrator group. However, I do not want the user to have
local admin rights. Therefore, I've put him into the Users Group. Now,
Outlook will not run at all. Must the user need to be part of the Local
Administrator Group to run Outlook?

What OS? Many older programs have problems with WinXP. See if giving the exe
run as admin rights helps.

Diane, the client is running Win2K Pro w/SP4 and all the latest security
patches installed. Outlook is 2000 SR1. Giving the user local admin rights
is not a good idea especially for this particular user who doesn't follow our
corporate regulations regarding computer use if you know what I mean.

What OS? Many older programs have problems with WinXP. See if giving the exe
run as admin rights helps.

just on the outlook.exe, not the whole computer... but I forget if 2k allows
run as rights on files.

will it run on power user or any other setting besides admin? if so, give
the exe rights for that level.

I've tried setting as a Power User but same prb. Will try just setting the
Outlook.exe to admin rights and see.
