hi. Since last monday the IE has not been running in my computer. I am running XP and I believe the MyDoom virus might had eaten a part of an important file. I have restored the computer to a point 2 days before IE stopped working and the problem still is unsolved
The case: I open any instance of IE and it crashes. If I view webpages using the Windows Explorer I get to the second and it crashes
I have installed the service packs and it hasnt solved the issue
Defragmentated also but is useless
Help please
Many programs open an instance of IE specifically and even when Im running now Netscape as the default web browser those programs still open an instance of IE making them crash
thanks

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." If that allows IE to open, search for malware:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

I would start with CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html
It's been
the most helpful with this problem.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
