I have just bought a laptop (running WinXp Home), it comes with a DVD
writer.

Neither music cd's or dvd's will auto run when incerted. Sometimes a data cd
will autorun. I have looked in the Registry and autorun is set to 1, which I
believe is the correct setting to enable autorun.

Can anybody please help with this issue.

Bob

Run REGEDIT and check
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom]

it should be

"AutoRun"=dword:00000001

Yours may be

"AutoRun"=dword:00000000

which stops Autorun from running

Sorry I replied with the obvious but for other readers it may be of use
as some may wish to disable it !
Some are just curious.
