Does MS remove postings?

Tom Humphreys

I posted earlier in the week about needing a MS hotfix which they were
making difficult to get. No one responded except for Constantin Coreth, who
was having a similar issue. His reponse to my post is still there but my
original post seems to have disappeared... I can see MANY older posts so I
don't think it's a server retention issue. MS was very reluctant to release
the "hotfix" despite the fact that I clearly had the condition described; in
fact I spent 3 hours on the phone (45 mins on hold) jumping through
diagnostic hoops (which I'd already done) before they promised to send it to
me via email. That was 4 days ago and I'm feeling discouraged about my
chances.

Anyway, all those things add up to me wondering if they dumped my post so
that more people don't call to get the "hotfix" thay don't want to
release...

Any thoughts?

I'm looking at your 1/8/04 post about it... newsreader settings usually
include a retention time that applies to your computer, not the server.
