Does anyone know the maximum characters allowed for AutoCorrect en

I'm a big fan of autocorrect; using sequences of my initials (hrh1, hrh2,
etc.) I have autocorrect entries for every variation of my name, title,
phone, address, email, etc. Here's my problem: I just created one that does
not work.
I'm thinking I may have exceeded the allowable number of characters (it's
171 characters with spaces), even tho the entry was accepted with no DANGER
DANGER warning box. I searched Help to no avail. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for any help ...

I've repeatedly seen AutoCorrect going corrupt with entries longer than
64kB, but would be surprised if the limit was below 255 characters.
There's no official limit though as far as I know.

Is this a formatted or an unformatted entry?

Odder still. Hmmmmmm. I certainly don't have 7000 entries. My 'replace with'
text is almost always unformatted. I'm running 2003 under XPsp2 and have not
encountered the memory error message ref'd.

I'll keep poking at it and report back -- I know how things can get funky in
the most oblique ways. Thanks anyway.

Just happened to notice your original post - Are you referring to
AutoCORRECT or AutoTEXT?

I had some issues where the text to type didn't trigger the AutoCorrect
because it conflicted with an existing entry.

Since then, I use #something# for all AutoCorrects, and never had any
problems again.

What text do you use? I guess you tried some different text already?
