Does anyone know how to find the Certificate of
Authenticity for Microsoft Word? My computer crashed a
while back and when I got it up and running again, I had
to reinstall all the programs. The problem is, I have to
type the product key down, but I can't find it. How can
I find it?

The certificate came with the CD. Probably on the CD case or whatever folder
or documentation came with it, depending on what version of word.

As to how to find it...start looking for wherever you put the stuff that
came with the software.

That product key is on the packaging your Office CD came in. You are not
supposed to lose that kind of stuff. You can call Microsoft to get it
replaced.

Greetings --

The Word 25-character Product Key (required to perform the
installation) isn't stored on the installation CD. If it was a retail
license, it's stored somewhere on the CD packaging on a bright orange
sticker that says "Do not lose this number."

To recover a lost CD or Product Key:

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
computer; although few keep records of Product Keys sold, it's worth a
try before you have to buy a new license.
