documents not opening in word

My documents that I typed in Office Word will not open in Work after they go
to My Documents. They will open in NotePad there. If I open Microsoft Office
and then click on Office Word they will open up there. If I have saved
documents sent to me in the Word format they will not open in My Documents.
This has been going on for 2 days now. None of my previous created in My
Document using Word will open and no not show up in the Office works.

I have not installed anything new. Ran a Norton complete scan-nothing. Ran
Scabn Ddisk, Defragmented, Tried to Restore and it will not let me restore
back to any set point. I re-installed Office Basic Edition 2003 after Repair
did nothing. This is what I have always used and it use to work. I also read
back through the Newsgroup to see if I could find a similar problem. Couldn't.

Anyone with any ideas? Thanks in advance Red
