document.xml.rel file attaching itself

HELP.... Using Vista Home Premium with Avast security and MS Firewall; also
tried with Bullguard:
When I send a Word document (.docx) as an attachment containing screen
prints, it fails to get delivered. If no screen prints are included, it is
OK. Text editor ON/OFF makes no difference. I can happily send to myself.

This is the message that is returned to me from Mailscanner:

One or more of the attachments (document.xml.rel, Screenprints.docx) are on
the list of unacceptable attachments for this site and will not have
been delivered.

Consider renaming the files to avoid this constraint.

The virus detector said this about the message:
Report: Report: MailScanner: Attempt to hide real filename extension
(document.xml.rel)

The new Word file format (docx) is actually a zip file with the contents
inside. Within the zip file are various files that contain info about
the word document. The document.xml.rels file contains information
about files related to the main Word document.

Apparently the mailscanner being used by the recipient account is smart
enough to determine that your attached docx file is really a zip file
and is scanning the contents, finding the *.rels file inside, sees the
double extension on it and incorrectly assumes that something nefarious
is afoot.

You'll need to speak with the recipient to see if they have any control
over their scanner.

If not, when you save the file in Word, choose the option to save it as
a Word 97-2003 Document. That format should get you past the scanner
until they are updated to properly detect the new Office document formats.

I saved as 97-2003, and attached and sent OK. No MailScanner messages received.

THANK YOU........ I have spent hours on this problem, worrying that I have
had a virus. Cleaver of MS to use a known virus format for their new OS!
