Document Recovery Pane in Word 2003

Is there a way I can disable the Document Recovery Pane from displaying when I open a document? I want the default to be NOT to display the pane on re-entry to Word.

I'd appreciate a reply to (e-mail address removed) in addition to a posting to the newsgroup.

Thanks

The document recovery pane will only appear if Word has crashed and there is
a document to recover. Tell Word what to do with the document it has
autorecovered and it will go away. Are you sure you don't mean the start-up
pane? In which case see -

Tools > options > save > uncheck the option to save autorecover information.

I tried that but it did not help. The next time I go into Word, it still shows the Document Recovery Pane. I did notice there is a registry entry for HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Resiliency\DocumentRecovery. If I delete this entry from the registry manually, the pane does not show. It can also be under ...\Office\10.0\..

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it
