Document Protection

I have a document that has been previously password protected and I need to
get into the document now to make modificiations to it, but do not know the
password because someone else had password/form protected the document.

Is there anyway to get around this password so that I can unprotect the form
and make the applicable changes?

Thanks,
Sherri-Lyn

If it is merely protected for forms, you can remove the protection by
inserting the file in a new document.

Hi,

Well the form is "form protected" with a password. Perhaps you could define
what you mean by 'inserting the file in a new document'. The file is
protected and therefore I cannot copy the template and paste it into a new
document.

The form itself has been created to use as a controlled template within our
company. Everyone uses the template to follow our procedures and they cannot
modify the fields contained within the form. The form has been protected
with a password (we have a standard password that is used, but this obviously
was not followed in this case) and now I am unable to update the form.

My question is - is there any way that I can break this "Password Protected"
Form Protection?
Could I send it to an individual such as yourself who could break the
password protection for me?
Is there a different way to "insert" the contents of this document into a
new document that I am not doing?

Thank-you so very much for your suggestions and assistance.

Sherri-Lyn

Create a new blank document. Use Insert | File to insert the protected form
document/template.

This worked great but it lost all the formatting. Better than retyping it
though.

You need to prepare the new document with the same margins, etc., as the
original.

This is by design: when you insert a file, if style names conflict, the
formatting of the target is being applied.
