Document generation, importing data

C

Carlo

I am using multiple versions of Word (2000 - 2007) on an office network.

I use industry-specific software named "Prolaw" to generate Word documents
that are populated with data that is stored in Prolaw. Prolaw will merge
data into designated places in the Word document. Once merged, the data is
indistinguishable from characters that have been manually typed.

I would like to be able to merge the data into various bookmarks, so that I
can conditionally automate the document based on bookmark values. Prolaw
will not merge into a field (or, maybe it is Word that will not accept a
merge into a field.)

I had tried finding a way to assign a bookmark name to the contents of a
table cell, and then merging into that cell, but I couldn't make that work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carlo
