Document created on Mac, revising on PC, spacing is off, is there.

I am trying to help someone with a document that was created on a Mac. We
wanted single spacing, and going into paragraph it shows single spacing, but
on print preview, the document shows double spacing. Is there some default
that has to be set to ensure single space formatting.
