DO_NOT_DELETE Folder& Files

When I uninstalled "Windows OneCare Live" with the proper program in the
"Control Panel" everything seems to work OK. However, after going to my
external hard drive (F:\) there was a file folder written there by "Windows
OneCare Live." Also, there is a "DO_NOT_DELETE" function attached to it as
well as it's files.

I would like to get rid of the folder and file because it only leaves me
with 8.17GB of a 37.2GB formatted drive. Can anyone help?

Why did you post this two times? It was only 11 minutes between postings.

G'Day Lonnie,

There is a set of instructions on the One Care Web site that (still) do not
work.

The following set of instructions was obtained from Microsoft. I had
to add a step (5a) to make them work for me.

Step 1: Enter Safe Mode
=========================
1. Restart the computer.
2. Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears.
3. Choose Safe Mode, and press Enter.

Step 2: Take ownership of the folder.
=========================
1. Right-click the backup folder you want to delete, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if it
appears).
3. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
4. In the Name list, click your user name, or click the Administrators group.
Click to select the "Replace owner on sub containers and objects" check box.
5. Click OK. The following message appears, where You do not have permission
to read the contents of directory All permissions will be replaced if you
press
Yes.
Please Click Yes.

5a. On the Security Tab, give the new owner (from step 4) "Full Control"

6. Click OK, try to remove the folder again.

Pat ... I'm running into some difficulty with step 5a. When I click OK on 5.
I don't see a message "You do not have permission to read the contents of
directory All permission will be replaced if you press Yes." I don't see a
"Yes" to press from the Menu I'm on. Which menu is it?

G'Day Lonnie,

I'm not sure if I got that message either. The main thing is
- in Safe Mode (to see the Security tab)
- Folder Properties
- Security tab - Click 'Advanced'
- Owner Tab - Change Owner
- Permissions Tab - give that owner "Full Control"
