Do you lose your files when using file transfer wizard?

I just built a new computer and am going to use it as the server for my home
office. I would like to transfer files from my old computer to this new one
but keep the files on the old one as well. I have both of these computers on
the same network, but wish to move files to the new one faster than normal.

Is this even possible? Will the file transfer wizard delete the files on
the old computer? --
Thank you,

Jeni

It didn't delete anything when I used it. But, of course, you have backups
of anything important.
