Installed sp2. computer stops and displays the following at bottom of blue
screen
STOP: OX0000007E (OXC0000005,OXF6D54750,OXF79AF42C,OXF79AF128)

It is a hardware error. I had the same (type) of problem on one machine after
the XP SP2

sorry bout that last post...... you will PROBABLY have to try and remove the
SP2. Can you boot your machine with a floppy disk? If you can, you will have
to fdisk /mbr to remove the HAL from SP2 (thanks Bill) or it will bomb when
trying to install XP again. This is not going to be good for MS, they seem to
have really screwed this up. BTW.. I had power and boot up errors on 2
different computers THIS WEEKEND after installing this SP........ go back to
SP1 (if you can) and then apply the 30 or so patches for that.......

Do you have any idear what the remaining part of the error message is saying,
that is the bit in brackets (0xC0000005, 0xF6D54750, 0xF79AF42C,0xF79AF128)
It would help to know what I am looking for. I reinstall a backup made prior
to SP2 installation and am back to a normal working machine.
