Do OEM CDs work?

WinXP OEM CDs are available from some web stores. Considering the product
activation necessary for WinXP, do these OEM setups continue to work after
30 days?

Provided that you're buying from a legitimate business, and
getting a valid license, sure.

OEM CD's work exactly the same as regular XP, and you can get one for under
$90 (plus any tax). However:

1. Technically, you must "purchase" hardware with the XP, so be sure of how
the vendor will handle this (it is the vendor'e problem, not yours).

2. You cannot do an upgrade installation. Only a clean, fresh installation
will work.

3. Your system can be upgraded over time, but that is the only system that
your OEM copy of XP will ever be able to work on. An OEM copy of XP will
"live" as long as your computer system does.

Yes, if you activate them. The activation requirement is the same
as with retail copies.
