Do i really need to buy another OS

hi everyone i am planning on making a new computer and was just wondering if
i take the hard drive from the computer i have right now with an xp operating
system and put it in my new computer as the master would the computer
recognize it and have no problem running. because i was going to put this one
as a the master hard drive and but another hard drive and set it as a slave.

Did Windows XP come pre-installed on your old computer?

The hard drive will be easily set up by the BIOS, but that is not the
problem. First, it is very unlikely that it will boot once moved, you'd
probably have to do a repair install. Second, you may have a licensing
issue, if it's an OEM version of XP that came with the original PC you are
not allowed, per the EULA, to transfer it to another computer.
