do I need word 2003 to edit in Outlook?

in tool and formating e-mails the edit with word 2003 buttons are grayed out
does this mean I can't use my word 2002 program for editing as it gives me no
other choice in my Outlook.
 
You need Word 2003 to use Word as the editor with Outlook 2003. If you only
have Word 2002 then you will use the regular Outlook editor and lose some
capability.
