Do I need the Multilingual User Interface?

I am going to buy a new computer and have a database which has some entries
in Russian and some in Greek. Do I need to buy the Multilingual User
Interface (i.e. buy XP Professional) to see and enter Cyrillic characters, or
will XP Home do? What does the MUI do, exactly; just enable the capability of
seeing all the menus and messages in other languages?
 
Yes all the MUI does is show menus in other languages. Everything else is builtin to plain windows.
